MAKING YOUR DREAM HOME & GARDEN A REALITY!

"Brilliant, good choice, loads of unusual stalls, came away with some good buys, look forward to next year,"

Stratford-upon-Avon is a delightful & popular market town, steeped in history and nestled in the picturesque Warwickshire countryside.
July 2015 will see the second Stratford–upon-Avon Home & Garden Show. Staged on the banks of the River Avon, with the beautiful backdrop of the Holy Trinity Church and world-famous Royal Shakespeare Theatre, the Show bigger & better and in its superb new venue!

A Blooming Marvellous Show...

This exciting Show is the brainchild of media gardening presenter (and Stratfordian!), Steve Brookes and interior design consultant Stephanie Lester. Their company, Blooming Marvellous Events Ltd, is organising the event, but this is certainly not one of your run-of-the-mill, home & garden shows. The Stratford-upon-Avon Home & Garden Show is different and special in so many ways! For a start Steve & Steph are very ‘visible’ organisers and don’t hide behind the corporate façade. You will find them readily available at the end of the ‘phone and chatting to the visitors and exhibitors during the Show.

Handpicked and Unique...

As it was for the 2014 Show, the ethos is one of quality, uniqueness and attention to detail – in every area – and for the benefit of the exhibitors as well as the visitors. Every one of the 200 exhibitors is handpicked by Steve & Steph to ensure that their products are of a high standard and completely relevant to the Show. This will not be a show with a last week, cut-price, sell off of stand space to any company – regardless of their products! Retaining the Show’s integrity is a key factor for its success in future years.

Steph’s selections …

The large Home & Crafts Marquee complex is Steph’s domain! Here she brings that wonderful eclectic mix of the artisan, the unusual, the beautiful and the undeniably ‘must have’! In here you will find many original items for the home, rarely found on the high street, and exciting, individually produced creations. All the trade stands will be of the shell-scheme type, giving exhibitors the chance to showcase their products to maximum benefit. There will also be a Craft Courtyard celebrating a huge variety of beautiful handmade crafts.

Steve’s garden delights …

The outside exhibitors are all Steve’s picks and will consist of three main product categories – Plants, Garden Accessories, and Outdoor Living. Here will be a magnificent mix of exciting merchandise to inspire the thousands of gardeners that will visit the show. As well as nurseries selling a range of quality plants and shrubs there will be stands selling all manner of quality products to enhance the beauty and enjoyment of your garden, including garden buildings, hot tubs and garden furniture. A few home & craft stands for which there is no room inside might just creep outside as well!

From breads to balsamics and cupcakes to chutneys!

The 2015 Show will see a separate Food Court marquee housing all those delicious delights to take home to enjoy. Many local artisan food & drink producers will be exhibiting and many will be allowing visitors to sample their wares. The Food Court will also host its very own Cookery Theatre with chefs and food producers showing their skills and giving you great ideas for the kitchen back home!

Showcasing local crafts

The show wants to give new, local craftspeople the chance to exhibit economically – maybe for the first time! There will be a Local Crafts marquee where craft exhibitors from within a 30 mile radius of the Show can rent one or two tables to showcase & sell their products – 100% of which must be made by themselves. Budding new artists, sculptors, potters etc will have a chance to test the water with new ideas and techniques. All very exciting!

Let us entertain you! …

The Show also hosts a number of other special features. A large, 200-seat demonstration theatre will have a full daily programme of inspiring craft & gardening shows – all free to attend. The Rural Crafts Marquee will pay homage to those wonderful, traditional British crafts such as woodturning & thatching as well as showing beekeeping and a basket maker at work. All will be giving live and entertaining demonstrations of their work.

Keeping the kids happy …

There will also be entertainment for the children, with traditional children’s swings, face painting and balloon modelling. Children will also be able to meet and have their photos taken with some of their favourite Disney characters such as Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Tigger & Winne the Pooh who will be popping in to say hello!

Yummy food on offer! …

A day out at a show is always a hungry experience so a wonderful array of delicious, top-quality foods will be available to suit every palate in the food area. As well as outside hot food stands (including spit roast pork, fabulous gourmet burgers and tasty Thai food), the fabulous Toot’s Vintage Tearooms will have served tables all set with beautiful vintage crockery where you can sample a freshly-prepared, succulent sandwich or maybe partake of that delightful summer tradition of an English cream tea. And as the weather is bound to be hot, Annie’s Antics – the fabulous old-fashioned ice cream van – will be on hand to help cool you down!

It’s all in the detail …

The Showground will have plenty of seating to rest those weary legs and lovely loos – both vital ingredients of a good show! There will also be live music going on throughout the day in various areas. Maybe a folk music trio, a guitar duo will suddenly strike up to entertain you?! And in case you’re worrying how you will be able to get all your purchases back to your car, the Show has that covered as well. There will be a team of cheery barrow boys & girls waiting to help you transport your goodies when you are ready to depart after your enjoyable day!

All for a good cause …

special part of the Show is that it is supporting a wonderful charity, the Stratford Cancer & Eye Hospital Appeal. Funds raised at the Show will help towards… upgrading the chairs used for chemotherapy sessions (which can last up to10 hours); buying specialist eye equipment that will allow better care for eye patients; providing a warm, welcoming and homely environment for patients receiving treatment in world class facilities and developing a therapeutic space, supportive of family involvement.
